Appraisal of project proposals to the International Climate Change Initiative

Since 2008, the International Climate Initiative (IKI) of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB) has been financing climate and biodiversity projects in developing and newly industrializing countries, as well as in countries in transition. The annual budget amounts to 120 Million €. Dr. Langniß reviewed several dozen applications for funding with the emphasis on project feasibility, cost-benefits and the human and financial resources of the applicant. The focus of the applications reviewed are on policy advice.
